Project Manager


Grassroots Campaigns seeks a passionate, professional and analytical candidate to serve as Project Manager for our 2016 Election Campaigns. The Project Manager will work with our operations team to ensure that we meet and exceed the goals and deliverables for each project, as well as serving as liaison between Grassroots Campaigns and the staff of our partner groups and clients.


Qualifications: Strong combination of goal-orientation, written and verbal communication, and command over data and planning are necessary. Candidate must have a commitment to progressive change and strong work ethic. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of success, are needed, as the Project Manager will interact with a variety of partner groups and external players, as well as communicate with, and give direction to, internal staff in diverse and remote locations. Experience with Excel and quantitative analysis is a requirement.  3+ years of project management and political campaign experience preferred. This position requires travel.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with operations staff and clients to ensure that we meet and exceed our goals and deliverables on every project, for every group
  • Develop campaign content, including writing scripts, fact sheets, and other materials.
  • Communicate campaign expectations to operational staff.
  • Monitor and report on program performance, with high level of rigor with tracking actuals vs. goals.
  • Provide analysis on performance and make recommendations to our staff and to clients.
  • Travel to field offices and do hands-on field work and training.
  • Conceive, plan and execute plans to improve program results.
  • Work with clients and partner groups to plan future campaigns and budgets
  • Network and develop relationships with new potential partners, attend conferences and events.
  • Recruit and train staff (including traveling to national training events).

Our services include but are not limited to: small donor fundraising and membership drives, volunteer organizing, field organizing, petition drives, grassroots advocacy, voter registration, voter education and turnout. Work Environment: Based in one of our national offices, but fast-paced with time in the field. Project Managers should expect to travel and frequently and nationally. We have field offices and partner groups across the country, so communicating with internal and partner staff from afar will be common. A workday might involve a planning meeting with a political nonprofit’s staff, running a training session with staff, and conducting a conference call to evaluate performance with our leadership team.
